Normalmente a maioria dos casais de namorados possui aquela música especial que marcou (ou marca) o relacionamento. Mas se você e sua namorado(a) ainda não tem uma trilha sonora, que tal se esta música for um cover da canção romântica favorita de seu cantor ou banda predileta? Seria excelente não é mesmo? Ainda mais para os fãs das boas covers...

Foi pensando nisto, em selecionar ótimas reinterpretações feitas por artistas de diversos estilos para suas músicas românticas favoritas, que cadeia de cafeterias Starbucks quase sempre na época do dia dos namorados (que na maioria dos países do mundo ocorre no dia 14 de Fevereiro em virtude do Dia de São Valentim) lançava uma coletânea só de covers de músicas românticas chamada de Sweetheart: Love Songs - Our Favorite Artists Sing Their Favorite Love Songs.

Lançada pela primeira vez pela Starbucks em 2004, o romântico CD logo se tornou um sucesso em suas lojas. Uma segunda compilação veio em 2005 e depois, um hiato de 4 anos se estabeleceu até o lançamento da terceira coletânea em 2009. No ano seguinte, a Starbucks voltou a lançar a quarta coletânea de Sweetheart. Em 2014, o selo Hear Music lançou a última coletânea da série.

É uma pena que a Starbucks e a Hear Music tenham parado, afinal, além de trazerem combinações às vezes inesperadas, os artistas e os covers escolhidos eram de primeira linha. Apenas para ter uma breve ideia desta ótima seleção, citamos a cantora Neko Case fazendo uma excepcional versão de Buckets Of Rain do Bob Dylan, a banda americana Nada Surf reinterpretando o clássico Au Fond Du Rêve Doré da cantora Françoise Hardy e o cantor brasileiro Vinicius Cantuária fazendo um ótimo cover da música Inútil Paisagem composta originalmente por Tom Jobim.
